SL Top Pitcher for June Picked

Following one of the brightest stretches in his career, the Southern League awarded Shreveport reliever Logan Lepak June's Pitcher of the Month trophy.
He was mesmerizing as he held opponents to a .179 batting average and put together a 6-0 mark, no saves, 37 strikeouts and a 1.93 ERA during his 42 innings of work.
So far this year Lepak has delivered no saves. In no relief appearances he has 98 strikeouts in 110 innings with a 2.13 ERA and 11 wins and 3 losses.

Barnstormers Watkins Named EL's Best Pitcher

Lancaster Barnstormers starter Owen Watkins has collected the Eastern League Pitcher of the Month award for a run of lights-out performances.
"This town really appreciates it when you're going well," said Watkins. "They might boo you when you're getting knocked around, but they love you when you're mowin' them down."
In June the 27-year-old compiled a 4-1 record in 6 starts with a 1.86 ERA. He threw 38.2 innings, fanning 42 while walking 10.
Watkins has started 16 times this year, pitched 98.2 innings, fanned 77 batters and walked 32. His current record is 9 wins and 5 losses with a 2.19 ERA.
