Joe Kaye did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Lincoln Bighorns from being beaten, 5-4, to the Akron RubberDucks at Canal Park. Kaye was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Akron pitcher Dominic Vollmer got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jared Morey got the loss. With the win, Akron boosts its record to 9-4.

Rich Chesky helped out the Akron cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 3 with a double.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Lincoln manager Jackson Ladue. "But we decided not to take it."
