Parris, Parris Swap Teams

The Padres and Royals announced a deal that was completed today. San Diego sent 35-year-old minor league C Aaron Parris to Kansas City for a 34th round draft pick. Both teams appear happy with the outcome of the trade. The general managers told the Baseball News Network they felt the swap was beneficial for all parties involved.
During his career Parris has played in 1486 games, batted .241 with 270 home runs and 1267 base hits.

San Diego Padres Ship Maynard to San Francisco

Newspapers in San Diego and San Francisco reported that the Padres have reached a deal sending 23-year-old minor league LHP Alex Alvarez, 25-year-old minor league RHP Jerry Maynard and a 8th round draft pick to the Giants for 27-year-old 1B Chris Badillo.
Badillo has a lifetime .263 average and .333 on-base percentage in his career with 454 hits, 111 doubles, 15 triples, 46 home runs, 208 RBIs and 219 runs scored.

RP Chris Gomez Landing in Baltimore

There was a buzz in the air today as news broke of Baltimore finalizing a deal with star reliever Chris Gomez.
The deal, worth an estimated $26,000,000 over 4 years, is being hailed by media analysts and could be a popular one with the Baltimore fans. The consensus is that Gomez will contribute a lot to the team.
Gomez owns a 18-15 won-lost record with a 4.32 ERA for his career. In 271 games he has recorded 20 saves, and the 30-year-old has 322 strikeouts in 268.2 innings of work.
