Rangers Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
Texas Rangers starter Tim Briere worked his magic, to help his team defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 7-1. The winner was Briere. He threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Merv Ledlow. The Rangers, with just their 6th win so far in 2062, have yet to catch fire.

Jason Cowan had a big 3-run home run for the Rangers in the bottom of the third inning. With Texas leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a curveball from fan favorite Merv Ledlow and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Rangers on top, 6-1.

"I made a lot of good pitches," said Briere. "I was right where I wanted to be."
