Osaka Approached by Manila for a Deal

Rumors around the league suggest the Manila Brigands and the Osaka Emperors are deep in talks. It's unsure which players are generating the most discussion between the teams, but talks have heated up of late.
Manila sits in third place in the South with a 29-25 record. Osaka is first in the North with a 34-20 record.

Gavaskar Goes 5-for-5

Osaka left fielder Bishwajeet Gavaskar had a day to remember, 5-for-5 against the Busan Bluebirds at Wizards Ballpark as the Emperors picked up a win, 9-7.
"He was patient up there," Osaka skipper Hafizi Bajraktari told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Gavaskar has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes."
Bishwajeet Gavaskar singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
In 44 games this season, Gavaskar has compiled a .326 batting average with 56 hits and 8 home runs. He has also scored 34 times and knocked in 19 runs.

Thuy Keeps Hit Streak Alive

The Shanghai Rivermen stopped the Kuala Lampur Reds, 5-2, and Nien Thuy collected a base hit yet again. The Shanghai center fielder finished with 1 hit to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25.
"I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Thuy told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games."
Nien Thuy walked in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th and grounded out in the 7th.
This season, Thuy has delivered 73 hits in 188 at-bats for a .388 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .442 clip and his totals also include 19 RBIs and 33 runs scored. This year Thuy has played in 49 games.
