Magic was in the air and on the mound at Glenwood Grounds, as Dave Taylor held the Adena Mounds spellbound in his 1-0 shutout victory. The Iron Springs Iron Springs pitcher went the distance, rang up 5 strikeouts, walked 1, and held the Mounds to 4 hits.
"He just had us in his thrall," Adena manager said. "We couldn't put anything together against him."
To date Taylor is 3-3 in 6 starts with a 3.51 ERA and has 24 strikeouts in 41 innings.

Yi Sparkles in 10-0 Shutout

The Turnbull ACs were almost helpless in their 10-0 loss to the Macon Whoopie and hurler Ji-chor Yi. Yi kept the ACs confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Yi," Turnbull manager said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 23-year-old left-hander had 1 walk and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Yi said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
So far in 7 appearances this season, Yi has recorded 2 wins and sustained 1 loss. He has pitched 45.1 innings, yielded 35 hits, fanned 34 and has a 2.38 ERA.
