Hershberger Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Saturday, July 23rd , 2061 Flagstaff shortstop Brecken Hershberger had a big day at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick against the Sedona Steers. The 19-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-7 and led to the 4-3 Blue Devils triumph over Sedona. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Hershberger said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Brecken Hershberger doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th and struck out in the 12th.
