Great Day for Allen -- 5 Hits
Friday, August 20th , 2060
It was a sensational day at the plate for Bill Allen as he led the charge to a nifty 2-1 win over the Indians. The Bluefield second baseman was pure misery for the Kinston pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Allen put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Jonathan Lazaro, manager for the Indians, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Bill Allen singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, singled in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.
This year, Allen is batting .349 with 6 home runs. He has scored 25 runs and driven in 25.
