Blue Jays Slip Past Kinston, 2-1
|
In a tight tilt between the Bluefield Blue Jays and the Kinston Indians, Brian Arrez was the difference-maker. The Bluefield right-hander excelled in his team's 2-1 win in 11 innings. Bluefield is 5th in the Appalachian League East Division with a record of 28-29.
Bill Allen, who is tied for 9th in the APP with a .349 batting average, had a direct impact on the outcome. Allen contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Bluefield up, 2-1.
"Brian gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Bluefield skipper Aiden Niemann.
