The Greensboro Grasshoppers thumped the Rome Braves, 10-1, at NewBridge Bank Park. Lavell Mack was a big reason his team got the win. Mack was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Mike Dove picked up the save, his 3rd. Greensboro improves to 54-29 with the win. They lead their division by 5½ games.

With Greensboro leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Mack hit a sinker from Sergio Almonte for a 3-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Grasshoppers ahead, 6-1.

"We did the things that it takes to win a game," said Mack.
