The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The Greenville Drive tallied a win at NewBridge Bank Park, throttling the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Levi Gonzales was a big reason for his team's success. Greenville reliever Peter Afoa snagged the win, upping his record to 3-1. Carter Alberti shouldered the loss.
Greenville used the hitting of Joey Castro to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Drive on top, 3-2. For the game, Castro had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Bryce Scott.
The 7th-place Drive sport a record of 32-37.
