Losing Streak Continues for Legends with 10-1 Loss to Drive
The Greenville Drive pinned a convincing loss on the Lexington Legends, 10-1, at Fluor Field at the West End. Ned Smeby was a main factor in the win. He went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for Greenville. Abe McDaniel, the winner, improved to 2-2. He held Lexington to 1 run on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. With the win, Greenville is 12-13.

The Drive got a big boost from designated hitter Jesse Ward who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Legends hurler Brody Svetlik. It was his 5th walk of the season and put Greenville on top, 1-0.

Lexington manager Cameron McElfresh called the blowout loss "not what we had in mind."
