Crawdads Triumph, 9-8, in 14 Innings
The Hickory Crawdads and Greensboro Grasshoppers put on quite a show.

The Hickory Crawdads cut down the Greensboro Grasshoppers by the score of 9-8 in 14 innings. Much of the credit went to center fielder Lance Connolly. Connolly went 3-5 with a triple, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Crawdads. Hickory reliever Willie Fernández picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Joshua Gibby was tagged with the loss.

The Crawdads procured the win, in large part because of catcher Valentin Montano. In the bottom of the 14th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"This place was electric at the end," Montano said.

The win takes Hickory to 5-19.
