The bats were silent much of the day at Smokies Park. But 22-year old left fielder Kal Rondan produced just enough offense to carry the Smokies past the Montgomery Biscuits, 3-1. Rondan was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Noah Wilks, who threw 86 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 6 hits. The win gives Tennessee a record of 5-7.
Pierce Brown helped out the Tennessee cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter was 3 for 4 with 3 singles.
