Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Bowie Baysox take on the Yonkers Dark Knights.
The Bowie Baysox could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Troy Brassard into a win. Instead, the Yonkers Dark Knights prevailed, 5-0. Brassard threw 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Levi Jacobs finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Had P.J. Tidwell not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Tidwell hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Dark Knights.
Said losing manager Jose Castro: "I think Susan Sarandon said it, 'Hit it where they ain't.' We didn't do a very good job of that tonight."
Yonkers is now 28-23.
