Almost There: Glendale On Cusp of RRCS Triumph After 7-6 Win
Despite a great performance by Gilbert left fielder Benjamin Jones, the Glendale Gauchos defeated the Geckos by the score of 7-6 at Maryvale Baseball Park today. Jones went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, but he could not prevent the Gauchos from moving one game closer to the R Championship Series. Glendale now leads the Regional Championship Series 3-1.

Mark Brito's at-bat in the bottom of the eighth inning was a big one for Glendale. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Glendale trailing 6-4, the pinch hitter hit a 2-run single.

"We don't have much margin for error now," Geckos manager Jason Blahut said. "We need to figure out the problem and fix it, immediately."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Maryvale Baseball Park in Glendale.
