Buffalo Wins Regional Championship Series
|
The Buffalo Bisons took time to celebrate with the Buffalo fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Regional Championship Series triumph over the Columbus Clippers.
Members of the Bisons hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Buffalo fans in attendance at Coca-Cola Field, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 2-1 win to seal the series 4-2.
"We've got great fan support," said third baseman Ikerne Fogg. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Columbus fans that were there even congratulated us on the win."
For the series, Fogg hit .391 with a .462 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 4 runs.
Things weren't so cordial on the Clippers side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season.
The AAA Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Regional Championship Series finishes.
