When he got to Kinston, Roderigo Swartz was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Wild Card Series.

The 19-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Elizabethton Twins, 5-0, in a remarkable performance at Ballpark of Kinston. With the win, the Indians took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.

Swartz, who was born in Winona, Missouri, threw 71 pitches over 6.1 innings, while allowing no runs.

"We did a lot of things right," said Swartz.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Kinston in Kinston.
