The Boston Red Sox beat the Portland Hops by a score of 5-3. Boston left fielder Christian Castillo deserved the lion's share of the credit. Castillo went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Red Sox. Santiago González picked up the save, his 28th. With the victory, the Red Sox record stands at 74-84.

Castillo had a timely hit for Boston in the top of the eighth. With Boston trailing 3-1, he turned a first pitch cutter into a 3-run home run. It was his 42nd home run of the season, making it 4-3, Boston.

"This was a good win," said Castillo.
