Spirited fans greeted the Kingsport Mets for their clash with the Reidsville Red Sox.
The Reidsville Red Sox dealt the Kingsport Mets a 5-3 loss at Hunter Wright Stadium. Dragon Pittington was the star on offense. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Bohan Hardin, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held the Mets to no runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 1. Getting the save was W.J. Sop, his 2nd.
With Reidsville leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Pittington hit a fastball from Max Janca for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 3-0.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Pittington.
The 8th-place Red Sox now sit at 9-12.
