St. Louis won the series 4-2, capturing the title for the 12th time. "We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said St. Louis manager Brandon Buchanan. "It's a great feeling." The champs finished the regular season 96-66 and claimed first place in the National League Central Division. In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and third baseman Bo Bichette said the Cardinals have "great fans and they deserve this."
