Spots, Truman Blank Oakland, 1-0
Monday, May 5th , 1919
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Oakland Ducks as starter James Truman shut them out, 1-0, at Ducks Ballpark. The San Francisco pitcher struck out 6 and walked 3 while allowing 5 hits.
"Truman was good but he wasn't flawless," Oakland manager Omar Riditch said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from San Francisco, but this is on us."
This year, Truman has worked 104 innings with 28 strikeouts en route to a 5-7 record and a 3.12 ERA.
