Scrooby 1917 CBL Batting Champ

The Cascadian Baseball League's top batter in 1917 was Dave Scrooby of the Spokane Suns, who snagged the title with a .389 average.
The 24-year-old center fielder recorded 224 hits in 576 at-bats, no home runs and 54 RBIs in his league-leading season.

Hopley Is CPL Batting Champ
Tuesday, August 21st , 1917
Lions left fielder Candelar Hopley hit the cover off the ball all year long and today picked up the Californian Professional League batting crown.
The 28-year-old Hopley hit .276 with 2 home runs and 50 RBIs. He also delivered 129 hits, including 13 doubles and no triples, played in 135 games and scored 36 runs.

PBA News Flash: Playoffs begin

Another regular season has played out, and the stage is set for the next level. The Pacific Baseball Association playoffs are here.
