High-A West Names #1 Pitcher in May

The High-A West named the winner of the Pitcher of the Month Award.
It went to Jake Thomas of Spokane Indians, who impressed the voters with a glittering 4-1 record in May.
The Spokane star hurler made 6 starts, allowed 25 hits in 35.1 innings, struck out 35 and had a 1.78 ERA.
This year, Thomas has compiled a 5-3 mark with a 2.05 ERA in 9 starts.

A+ W's #1 Batter Announced

When Alex Liciaga stepped up to the plate in May he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the High-A West Batter of the Month award.
The young Hillsboro shortstop posted a .258 batting average with 7 home runs, 18 RBIs and scored 16 runs. Liciaga also worked pitchers for 10 walks to post a .327 on-base percentage.
To date, Liciaga has collected 35 hits for a .236 average. He has posted 9 home runs, scored 20 runs and driven in 23 runs.
