5-for-7 Day for Ramirez Monday, September 7th , 2043 It was a sensational day at the plate for Vancouver Canadians shortstop Eddie Ramirez, but a tough one for the team, as the Canadians dropped the contest, 4-3, to the Hillsboro Hops. Even with the loss, Ramirez was pure misery for the Hillsboro pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-7 in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Ramirez, who is the 23-year old shortstop . "Ramirez really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Hops manager Eric Sogard told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Eddie Ramirez singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, struck out in the 10th, hit an RBI single in the 12th and singled in the 14th. This season, Ramirez is batting .319 with 4 home runs. His totals include 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored. |
