Neidert Cops #1 Pitcher Award in July

It's official! Nick Neidert of the Knoxville Smokies is the Southern League Pitcher of the Month. In July he dominated the league with 4 wins and 1 loss in 5 starts. In 32.1 innings of work Neidert chalked up 31 strikeouts, 11 walks, a 2.23 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .276 batting average.
This season, Neidert has 9 wins and 1 loss and a 2.04 ERA.

Jesus Parra Winner in Southern League

Jesus Parra put together a good July to earn the Southern League Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to Biloxi officials that he belongs on the big league roster.
The Shuckers third baseman posted a .307 batting average with 7 home runs, 17 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
So far in 2025 Parra is batting .257 with 17 home runs, 44 RBIs and 55 runs scored. He has 89 hits in 346 at-bats and a .365 OBP.

League Suspends Ogans and Rosario for Fisticuffs

After an intense confrontation, both the Clingstones Keshawn Ogans and the Blue Wahoos Alejandro Rosario were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Columbus-Pensacola game. Keshawn Ogans will miss 3 games, while Alejandro Rosario was suspended for 7 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Keshawn Ogans commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
This year, Ogans is hitting .278, produced 12 RBIs and 4 home runs, scored 5 times and gotten on base at a .333 rate.
In 6 relief appearances this season, Rosario has no saves. He has 2 wins and no losses, 1.12 ERA and 8 strikeouts in 8 innings.
