Chicago Swaps Wisely to Toronto for Singer Friday, January 17th , 2025 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Cubs announced today the acquisition of 28-year old RHP Brady Singer from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for 25-year old minor league 2B Brett Wisely, 21-year old minor league LF Hendry Mendez, and $1,064,000 in international amateur bonus pool room. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Cubs, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." In his career, the 28-year-old Singer has accumulated a 36-41 won-lost mark and opposing clubs have hit .256 against him. |
