Washington Picks Up Another L
|
The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Washington Nationals, 7-2, at Nationals Park. Philadelphia second baseman Bryson Stott collected 2 singles and 1 double with 1 run batted in. The winner was Philadelphia reliever Caleb Kilian, now 1-3. The loser was Hayden Birdsong. The loss makes Washington 11-16.
Philadelphia used a clutch at-bat from Nick Castellanos to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Phillies ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Castellanos.
