Los Angeles Loses, 8-7, Despite Outman Performance
|
Despite a fine performance by left fielder James Outman, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-7. Outman was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. St. Louis reliever Andrew Kittredge snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Dustin May shouldered the loss. Giovanny Gallegos earned the save, his 4th.
Austin Meadows, who signed a 4-year contract worth $58,900,000 on 12/28/2024, aided the St. Louis cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Meadows told a St. Louis Times reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
The win puts St. Louis at 6-11.
