Wood Slugs Nationals to 7-3 Win
|
The Washington Nationals topped the Milwaukee Brewers, 7-3, with youngster James Wood playing a key role. Wood was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Nationals in the win. Carlos Carrasco was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Lou Trivino picked up his 1st save of the season.
Early in the game, Wood had a 3-run home run for Washington. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Nationals on top, 3-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Wood.
Milwaukee falls to 7-4.
