Giants Roll Over Marlins, 10-2
|
The exploits of designated hitter Niko Kavadas helped the San Francisco Giants defeat the Miami Marlins, 10-2. Kavadas was 1 for 3 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Logan Webb earned the win to go to 12-11. He allowed 1 run on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. The Giants bumped their record to 85-74 with this win.
San Francisco shortstop Dansby Swanson contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 127th hit of the season and put the Giants ahead, 1-0.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Swanson told the San Francisco Citizen.
