No one was more impactful than Isaac Paredes in the 4-2 Pittsburgh win over Philadelphia. Paredes, who finished 5th in the AL in home runs with 37 last year, was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Cade Povich, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-15. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The third-place Pirates now have a record of 63-80.

Pittsburgh took a 4-1 lead on Paredes's 8th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Steven Cruz in the top of the eighth, propelled Pittsburgh to the win.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Paredes.
