Guardians Rally to Eke Out Win
The Cleveland Guardians got a magnificent performance from pitcher Aaron Civale, who muffled the Boston offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Guardians win at Fenway Park. Robert Stephenson came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Emmanuel Clase earned his 33rd save in 36 chances.

Angel Martinez's hit in the top of the 11th was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a slider from Brendan Cellucci to center for a run-scoring single. It put Cleveland in front, 2-1.

In postgame comments, Martinez said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.

At 70-59, the Guardians claim third place in the American League Central Division.
