The Minnesota Twins powered past the visiting Detroit Tigers, 3-1, in the opener of the Championship Series at Target Field. Minnesota starting pitcher Chris Paddack threw 6.0 innings of 1-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Twins now lead the series 1-0.

"Chris was able to execute his pitches," said Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli. "Simple as that."
