St. Louis Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Angels get after it.
In a low-scoring game between the Los Angeles Angels and the St. Louis Cardinals, pitcher Jose Suarez was masterful on the mound. The Los Angeles left-hander spearheaded his team's 3-0 win. Suarez, now 4-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Eric Torres closed it out for his 9th save.
Ji-hwan Bae had a big solo home run for the Angels in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Antonio Senzatela and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Angels on top, 2-0.
Bae attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
Los Angeles has now won 4 games in a row.
