Destroyers Steensma Lost for Year Sunday, August 8th , 2010 The season is finished for Dustin Steensma of the Dubrovnik Destroyers. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Destroyers starting pitcher suffered a torn labrum while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the El Salvador Admirals. Team doctors said it would take at least 8-9 months to heal. Steensma has made 28 starts, tossed 122 innings, struck out 63 batters and walked 54. His record is 2-11 with a 4.87 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .258 batting average. |
