Surf Shacks Prevail, as Division Series Goes to the Wire

The Lahaina Surf Shacks are heading to the League Championship Series, having narrowly defeated the Durango Demons.
Lahaina edged Durango in the series 3-2, with a win at Gems Field in the clinching game by a 3-2 margin.
Dave Papenfuss turned in a strong offensive performance for the Surf Shacks and got series MVP for his efforts.
"I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win."
It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Papenfuss continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.
For the series, he hit .381 with a .458 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Lahaina Surf Shacks will play against the Hiroshima Carp in the next round. Hiroshima won their series against the Tinley Park Bobcats 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.

Division Series Goes the Distance, Lihue Prevails

With a narrow 3-2 series win, the Lihue Roosters have eliminated the Hawkins Hellfire Club and are Division Series winners.
"We tried not to look ahead to the League Championship Series, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said right fielder Mark Kenter, who was named series MVP.
Lihue won the final game by a score of 7-4, wrapping it up at Triplets Field.
Kenter's big series saw him hit .444 with a .474 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Lihue Roosters will play against the Sinuiju Pirates in the next round. Sinuiju won their series against the El Salvador Admirals 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
