Shooting Stars Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Wednesday, August 26th , 2009 Even the most die-hard fans of the Scarborough Shooting Stars will likely now start focusing on next year. The team was today mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. "We're disappointed," said Shooting Stars third baseman Evan Rembish. "Not just for ourselves, but also for the fans that stick with us every year." The Shooting Stars have made the playoffs 6 times in their 10 years as a WBL Rookie League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 4th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2005. Scarborough last won the World Series in 2004. |
