Wells Pitches Gem as Mighty Mussels Beat Star City, 4-0 Friday, June 29th , 2018 Marigot's Maurice Wells brought his best stuff to Hondo Grounds, shutting down and shutting out the Star City Archers, 4-0. He racked up 5 strikeouts, surrendered 2 hits, and issued no walks on his way to the victory. "We barely made him work at all," Star City manager Andrew Adriani said later. "Marigot could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted." This season, Wells has a 9-4 mark in 16 starts with a 2.17 ERA. He has given up 67 hits in 91.1 innings, struck out 42 and issued 29 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .203 batting average against him. |
