Guangzhou Swaps Padua to Taipei for Due Saturday, December 9th , 2113 It came down to the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the Guangzhou Sea Turtles and Taipei Wild finally came to an agreement on a trade that had been rumored for weeks. The trade sends Guangzhou's 21-year old LHP Wen-hua Wu, 21-year old C Hiroyuki Kaku, and 22-year old 1B Florante Padua to Taipei in a swap for 29-year old 1B Dung Due and $600,000 in cash. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been completed with one stating, "We had to set a deadline to get it done." The players are expected to report to their new teams by tomorrow. Taipei will retain a portion of Due's remaining contract. In 136 career games, Due has put up a .279 average, collected 38 doubles, 2 triples, and 4 home runs, driven in 37 runs, and scored 68 times. |
