Taylor Pitches 1-0 Shutout for Las Vegas
Friday, July 25th , 2110
It wasn't easy but the Las Vegas Mutiny made it look that way.
Starter Paul Taylor shut out the Austin Bats despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Las Vegas Mutiny cruised to victory, 1-0. Taylor allowed only 3 hits and rang up 3 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
Presently Taylor has a 2-6 mark in 13 starts with a 3.33 ERA. He has given up 66 hits in 83.2 innings, struck out 37 and issued 20 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .217 batting average against him.
