Kuumba Hit String Snapped at 26
Saturday, June 28th , 2110
The New Zealand Seals pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Sammer Kuumba hitless in 4 at-bats during the club's 5-1 victory over the Cairo Pharaohs at Pyramid Park. The disappointing performance ended a 26-game hitting streak for the third baseman.
"I'm a little down right now," Kuumba said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too."
This year Kuumba has hit at a .314 clip with 55 RBIs, 19 home runs and 51 runs scored.
