Kangaroos Earn Clutch Win, 3-2
|
Melbourne parlayed a decent outing from starter Edwin Saldivar into a solid win over the Santiago Suns. The final score was 3-2. Melbourne reliever Binota Sarat picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Takehito Sato was tagged with the loss. The first-place Kangaroos have won 4 in a row.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Melbourne. That's when 28-year old catcher Maxime Mounier hit a solo home run off Takehito Sato to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"This joint was rocking," said Mounier.
