The Singapore Fusion wiggled past the Hanoi Red Dragons, 5-4, at Field of the Red Dragons. The win was highlighted by the performance of Singapore pitcher Spencer Thomson. Singapore reliever Aku Maluhialani picked up the win to move to 4-1. Lakew Kihiga suffered the loss. Abdul-Rafi Habib earned the save for Singapore, his 1st.

Singapore needed the clutch hitting of Mzee Mukuru to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Fusion on top, 5-4. For the game, Mukuru had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Thomson. "Successful pitchers do it."

Singapore, at 22-21, holds down third place in the Eastern League Oceania.
