Pharaohs Take Tight Tangle
|
The Cairo Pharaohs powered past the Jakarta Jazz, 8-7, at Pyramid Park. Osvaldo Peneda went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5, to lead the charge. The win boosts the Pharaohs to 20-22. The loss puts the Jazz at 27-16.
Cairo got a knockout punch from Baira Varahabhotla. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 14th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Varahabhotla said.
