Black Eagles Win at Toronto, 4-3
|
The Toronto Beavers got a superb performance from pitcher Sukmo Kartodirdjo. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Berlin. The Black Eagles won the game, 4-3. Kartodirdjo threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. The win was credited to Valentin Lavergne in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jacques Le Corre took the loss. Dan Khong nailed down his 2nd save.
Malalapuy Olakeakua, who is on pace for 102 RBI this season, helped out the Berlin cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Olakeakua.
The win gives the Black Eagles a record of 15-28.
