Seals Lose to Kangaroos, 5-4
|
Fans watched the Melbourne Kangaroos and the New Zealand Seals fight to the finish.
Fesseha Benslimane was a major factor in the 5-4 Melbourne win over New Zealand. The Kangaroos right fielder was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Iskinder Danjuma earned save number 2 this season.
Melbourne used a well-timed hit by Kabul Djajadiningrat to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Kangaroos ahead, 5-3. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Djajadiningrat. "Just do my job."
The last-place Kangaroos now have a win-loss record of 18-23.
