Vikings Shut Out Black Eagles, 8-0
|
Berlin had no answer for Stockholm Vikings starter William Patlan, who flummoxed Black Eagles hitters as the Vikings cruised to victory, 8-0. Patlan got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 0 over 5.2 innings. Patlan allowed no runs. The Vikings raised their record to 2-2.
The Vikings got an important contribution from right fielder Zerwal Nathari, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a full count fastball into left for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Vikings ahead, 5-0.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Patlan told the Stockholm Herald. "It's as simple as that."
