Druids Fall Short, 2-1, at Bogota
|
The Bogota Emeralds and Dublin Druids played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
The Bogota Emeralds got a magnificent effort from pitcher Wamochia Mbui, who kept Dublin hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Emeralds win at Emerald Ballpark. Mbui, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The save went to Jean Martin, his 1st this season.
The Emeralds got a big boost from catcher Haleem Mogots who had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the first inning off Druids hurler Semyon Majanov. It was his 16th RBI of the season and put Bogota on top, 1-0.
"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said Dublin manager Salvador Chacon.
With the win, Bogota climbs to 18-14.
