Sky Horses Take Down Seals, 5-3
|
The Pyongyang Sky Horses racked up a win at The Shire, bumping off the New Zealand Seals, 5-3, in 11 innings. Abdul-Wahhab Wa'il, who started for Pyongyang, pitched effectively for his team. Pyongyang reliever Yosuke Ito picked up the win to move to 2-0. Adolfo Assa suffered the loss. The win brings the Sky Horses to 15-12, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Pyongyang used the clutch hitting of Cheng-hao Pang to snag the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Sky Horses ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Pang.
