Dreamers Bump Off Gladiators, 7-5
|
Los Angeles right fielder Waweru Jahi had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Rome Gladiators, 7-5. Elias Rio, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Yahiya Yahya earned the save, his 1st, for the Dreamers.
Jahi contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Los Angeles in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 5-4, Jahi took a sinker from Will Sierra and stroked the double to left-center. His 7th double of the season allowed the Dreamers to leap in front, 7-5.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Jahi.
Los Angeles, now 9-14, is off to a slow start.
